The CRR 12 mile coulee XC event took place last Saturday and although the cold scared off all but the most hardy, the Harriers had 2 finishers in the top 10. Harrier Mark Fewster took a very determined approach to the race and really went for it from the gun. "I wanted to go hard from the gun but stay relaxed" Fewster said afterwards and he was certainly fast. A gap of about 20 seconds at half way looked unassailable until Trev Williams (bedecked with his video camera) came through strong in the last 2k to nick victory at the last. Harrier Rawlyk took a similar approach and had designs on 7th at half way until, by his own admission, his legs failed him although he did finish 9th, his first top 10 of the year. "I was hanging on at the end" he said.
Harrier Syl Corbett (pictured) finished a fantastic second in the women's division.

Other Harriers have been taking the opportunity for some cross training. Harriers Pryce and Penny in particular did the 72k Lake Louise to Banff XC ski loppet last weekend, with Blaine Penny taking both the victory and the course record!! Good work boys!
Finally, don't forget training on Wednesdays. We are starting to get quite a crowd. 7 of us last week and the numbers just keep growing. Come join in the fun! 8pm at the Oval for the warm up. Session starts 8.20-8.30...
